About the South Jersey Area Rocketry Society

SoJARS members look on at the launch of an Estes Big Daddy at the August launch at GCC.

Founded in May of 1999 by a group of "Born Again Rocketeers" the South Jersey Area Rocketry Society (SoJARS) is a NAR sanctioned model rocket club devoted to the recreational hobby of model and high power rocketry. Its purpose is to advance the educational, scientific, and recreational hobby of model rocketry in the southern New Jersey community and to encourage and promote educational, scientific, recreational, and leadership opportunities for younger hobbyists within the context of model rocketry and this organization.

The South Jersey Area Rocketry Society (SoJARS) invites rocketeers of all ages and skill levels, from all over the New Jersey and the Philadelphia metropolitan area, to attend our monthly launches in Gloucester County, NJ. SoJARS is comprised of members who have been designing, building, and flying model rockets for decades and its the company of these members that makes this club a great environment to learn and expand your skills in the hobby of rocketry.
